Unlike many Lancaster artists, Liz Hess never painted the Star Barn when it sat along Route 283 in its dilapidated glory for so many years.
Nearly 100 years later, the young Lititz artist David Brumbach turned that barn into the iconic art image when he began doing paintings and drawings of the distinctive Star Barn. Now, more than 40 years later, Brumbach’s paintings grace the gallery of the famous Star Barn. The barn has made a journey from its spot along the highway to the lush Stone Gables Estate in Elizabethtown.

“If you want the perfect wedding, go for Ironstone Ranch. Between the beautiful property, the amazingly helpful staff, and the fun animals- it was wonderful. surprisingly affordable considering how gorgeous it was- all our guests told us it was one of the best weddings they'd been to and a major part of that was because of how pretty the ranch is. From the first step on the property, we were hooked. if we could live there, we would.”
Danielle F“The main men who worked our special day, Mark and Jeremy acted as if I was their own daughter getting married! The professionalism and kindness at this venue goes unmatched. The Star Barn Village is a fairytale dream made reality. I felt like a princess on my wedding day due to the attention todetail everyone who re-built the barn used. My guests were in shock at how grand and elogant the property was, understandably so! You will not be disappointed holding any event at this venue!”
Jennifer R“This place is a dream come true! The staff here are the nicest people you will ever meet! They are so flexible and workable and are super upfront about their ground rules from the beginning so there are no surprises. Theirgoal is to make sure your day is exactly what you want, and it shows. Jeremy is a rock star. Every single time I went to the venue he was there to make an appearance, see how I was doing, and help me with whatever I needed. I didn’t know he would also be there on the wedding day but oh my goodness am I happy he was! All my guests were completely in love with theStar Barn venue. It’s clean and breath taking. My dad and I chose to do a carriage ride! Everyone said our wedding was straight out of a fairytale! If you want an affordable place where your guests can walk around and explore and you can enjoy your night and relax at a beautiful place, look no further! THIS is where you should go!”
Macie W"My husband and I couldn’t have picked a more perfect venue for our wedding. From the moment we stepped onto the property, Mark, Jeremy and Alexis made us feel like family. We were a little hesitant to book a venuethat was still under construction. After touring the property, there was no denying this was where we would have our wedding. It turned out even better than we could have imagined. The grounds were beautiful, the decor included even the littlest touches and the main barn, lower level, bride and groom suites were breath taking. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how amazing the venue was. The staff went out of their way to make sure every detail was perfect, from the moment we booked our wedding, until westepped off the property as husband and wife. You won’t find a more beautiful venue in Central PA. We can’t wait to come back to all the events the Star Barn hosts for many years to come! Thank you for allowing us to have our dream wedding!"

When my husband and I went venue shopping, this was our last stop and we had 2 other places that we almost committed to but decided to make one more stop. I am so glad we did because the second we drove down the long driveway, I got a feeling that it was going to be the place. Marc and Jeremy greeted us when we arrived and immediately made us feel like family. It is so evident how much they love and care for their grounds, and just want to make people happy by giving them the wedding oftheir dreams. On our wedding day, Jeremy was coordinating everything for the day and went above and beyond to make sure that we had the most perfect day. After the ceremony, my husband and I went into the farmhouse to change and take a breather, and Jeremy came in with a plate of appetizers for us to enjoy. He coordinated all of the logistics for our day andit went off without a hitch. He and Marc truly make you feel like you have known them forever. They both stuck around for the reception and made sure to give us a hug and wish us congratulations. The Stone Gables staff completely blew us away. We have been getting non-stop calls, texts, and emails about how beautiful the ranch was, and what a great time everyone had. I wish we could do it all over!"

We laughed, of course, but truer words were never spoken!! Not only was the weather absolutely perfect, the Ironstone staff and the venue was beyond perfect. We wish we could give more than 5 stars. Every question we asked was answered promptly by Alexis. Every time we were there to visit to make plans, we were treated like family, always giving helpful insight and ideas. I spent the night before the wedding at the Farmhouse with my bridesmaids and we slept with the windows and doors open and woke up to the start of the most day greeted by a gorgeous sunrise! The guys went skeet shooting in the morning and had a blast preparing for the day at the ranch. We highly recommend taking advantage of these options, as they only added to the perfection of the day. The timing of our day went perfectly, thanks to the help of Jeremy and Mark. Throughout the day, Jeremy would check to see if everyone was feeling alright, asking if we needed anything and kept us updated on timing. It was incredibly helpful and calming. We cannot recommend this place enough! Over the past six months, we still have our guests comment on how wonderful Ironstone was and how they'd like to go back - we couldn't agree more! Thank you, Ironstone Ranch staff, for making our beginning perfect!"
